1. Who We Are
Main Street Woodbury, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to preserve and strengthen historic downtown Woodbury, New Jersey. In this policy, "we," "us," and "our" mean Main Street Woodbury, Inc.

2. What This Policy Covers
This policy explains what information we collect through mainstreetwoodbury.org, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have.
It does not cover information you provide directly to third parties we link to, including payment platforms, event registration platforms, or the City of Woodbury website. Those organizations have their own privacy policies and we do not control them.
3. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly. When you fill out a form on our site, we collect what you enter. Specifically:
- Contact form: your name, email address, and message.
- Volunteer interest form: your name, email address, phone number, the town you live in, your company or organization name if you choose to provide it, which volunteer opportunities interest you, and anything you add in the open comment field.
- Email list: your email address.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the site or search that referred you. We use Google Analytics for this. See Section 7.
Information we do not collect. We do not collect payment card numbers, bank account details, or any financial information through this website. All donations, membership payments, and event registrations are handled on third-party platforms. See Section 5.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you give us to:
- Respond to messages you send us
- Follow up about volunteer opportunities you expressed interest in
- Send you the emails you signed up for
- Understand how people use our website so we can improve it
- Keep records required for our operations as a nonprofit organization
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it, trade it, or share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.
5. Payments, Donations, and Registrations
Donations and membership payments are processed by Zeffy. When you click a donate or membership button on our site, you leave mainstreetwoodbury.org and complete the transaction on Zeffy's platform.
Event ticketing and vendor applications are handled through EVENTENY.
We never see or store your card number. These platforms collect and process your payment information under their own privacy policies, which you should read before completing a transaction. We receive from them only the information needed to acknowledge your gift and maintain our records, which typically includes your name, contact details, and the amount and date of your donation.
6. Who We Share Information With
We share personal information only in these situations:
Service providers. We use third-party services to operate the website and communicate with supporters. These currently include:
- Hostinger— website hosting
- Google Analytics — website traffic measurement
- Zeffy — donation and membership processing
- Constant Contact — email list management
- EVENTENY — event registration and vendor applications
These providers may access your information only to perform services for us.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
With your consent. In any other case, we ask first.
We do not share volunteer information, contact form submissions, or email addresses with other organizations, including our partners.
7. Cookies and Analytics
Our site uses cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small text files stored on your device.
What we use them for:
- Essential functions that make the site work
- Google Analytics, which helps us understand which pages people visit and how they found us
Google Analytics collects information including your IP address, pages viewed, and time on site. Google's handling of that data is governed by Google's own privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Your choices. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
8. Email
If you join our email list, we will send you updates about downtown Woodbury, our events, and our work. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect promptly. You can also email info@mainstreetwoodbury.org to be removed.
We do not add people to our email list without their action. Submitting the contact form or the volunteer form does not subscribe you.
9. How Long We Keep Information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as long as required by law.
- Contact form submissions: until you unsubscribe
- Volunteer interest submissions: until you unsubscribe
- Email list: until you unsubscribe
- Donation and membership records: as long as required for our financial, tax, and audit obligations
You can ask us to delete your information at any time. See Section 11.
10. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including using reputable service providers and limiting access to the people who need it.
No website or method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive personal information, such as financial account numbers or government identification numbers, through our contact or volunteer forms.
11. Your Choices and Rights
Wherever you live, you can:
- Ask what we have. Email us and we will tell you what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct it. If something is wrong, we will fix it.
- Ask us to delete it. We will delete it unless we are required to keep it for legal or financial reasons.
- Unsubscribe. Use the link in any email or contact us directly.
To make a request, email info@mainstreetwoodbury.org with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. We are based in the United States and our website is directed to residents and visitors of Woodbury, New Jersey. We do not target the EEA or UK. To the extent the General Data Protection Regulation applies to any processing of your personal data, you may also have the right to object to processing, request restriction of processing, request portability of your data, and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
If you are a New Jersey resident. New Jersey's data privacy law provides certain rights to consumers with respect to organizations that meet specified thresholds. Regardless, the rights described above are available to you.
We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
12. Children's Privacy
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at info@mainstreetwoodbury.org and we will delete it.
13. Links to Other Websites
Our website links to other sites, including the City of Woodbury, the Greater Woodbury Chamber of Commerce, local businesses, payment platforms, and event registration platforms.
We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of any website we link to. When you follow a link away from mainstreetwoodbury.org, this policy no longer applies. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. If we make a significant change to how we handle personal information, we will post a notice on the website.
Your continued use of the website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
