Things to Do in Downtown Woodbury
Woodbury was a city before New Jersey was a state, and most of that history is still standing on Main Street. Park once, walk everywhere, visit the Woodbury Farmer’s Market and spend an afternoon in a downtown that has scenic walking paths, restaurants, shops, and one of the most celebrated Historical Museums in this part of the country.

Shopping
Shopping in Downtown Woodbury
Downtown Woodbury is not a shopping center and it does not pretend to be. What it has instead is a walkable stretch of independent stores where the person behind the counter usually owns the place, and where you can spend a whole afternoon without seeing the same storefront twice.
The Nerd Mall is the one people drive in for. It is not one store but several under one roof, covering board games, comics, video games, action figures, and collectibles, with regular game nights and open tables for anyone who wants to stay a while. Bring a kid and plan on being there longer than you meant to be.
The thrift, consignment and antique scene is the other reason people make the trip. From clothing, furniture, books, records, and kitchenware, and so much more; you have a proper thrifting route inside a few blocks, which is rare anywhere and almost unheard of in a city this size.
Our advice is to park once and make a day of it. Start at one end, work your way down, and stop for lunch when you need it. Everything below is within a short walk of everything else.

Eat & Drink
Where to Eat in Downtown Woodbury
You can eat Dominican, Pakistani, Vietnamese, Mexican, Chinese, and vegan in downtown Woodbury without moving your car. LC's does mofongo and fresh juices, Gu's Noodle House has some of the best broth in South Jersey, El Manantial handles the tacos, and HOTVINGS makes a cheesesteak that converts people who did not come looking for vegan food.
Start earlier and the cafes take over. Whole and Grounded, Mi Cafecito Spot, Woodbury Station Cafe, and The Cultural Collective all do coffee and breakfast, and all three close by mid afternoon; or check out our newest addition, the Evergreen Patisserie, a French cafe & bakery serving food and pastries 7 days a week.
Almost every one of these is somebody's family business. That is the difference between eating here and eating off the highway.

See & Do
What to See and Do in Downtown Woodbury
The best thing downtown is the street itself. Three centuries of architecture stand along Main Street, and walking it end to end takes about twenty minutes if you do not stop, which you will.
The Gloucester County Historical Society Museum is the one people underestimate. Thirteen rooms and more than thirty thousand artifacts, from Revolutionary War pieces to quilts and model trains, for a five dollar donation.
For outside, Bell Lake Park has a paved loop, a scenic, educational nature trail, and enough turtles to keep a kid busy. Besides the lovely parks in Woodbury, the community itself is welcoming and walkable. If you love Woodbury’s historic sites as much as we do, consider the city’s Historic Walking Tour, featuring homes, churches, theaters, banks, local and county government buildings.
